Pump Control Programme

Pres-Vac has also developed a PLC-based Pump Control Program (PCP), incorporating a colour touch-screen, which allows the crew to operate and monitor all pumps remotely. The PCP features 4 pre-set standard modes (Discharge, Re-circulation, Stripping and Tank-wash). The modes can be modified and more can be added. Functions like Automatic Slow Down (ASD) help achieve a more efficient discharge by lowering the pump speed when the tank is almost empty and gives the crew the tools it needs to quickly discharge while in port.

The unit has built-in safety features to protect the pump from dry running. Used properly, this helps prevent preventing pump break down and substantially reduces repair costs.

Driving the pumps via a matrix of frequency converters results in a more energy efficient use of the pumps, while simultaneously providing the cargo pump system with built-in redundancy.

Pres-Vac also offers booster pumps which can be installed either horizontally or vertically, and an inducer for very low NPSH requirements.
